Who doesn’t love to eat? When I graduated high school back in 2008, I was a little heavy. My doctor told me I needed to lose weight. Although I wasn’t grossly overweight, I wasn’t happy with where I was. I used to live to eat without caution.

At first, I became more active (I prefer running or spending some time at the gym) but ate very little. Of course, that wasn’t productive… or healthy. So I started to think about food differently. Nothing was wrong with living to eat (as opposed to eating to live) but do it smartly. So I started to make smart choices and cook all of my own meals. I wasn’t a good cook at first, but I knew I wanted to learn to cook Korean food (especially since I wanted to move to Korea, even back then).

Since 2009, I have been learning to cook healthy foods. While my focus has been Korean cuisine, I have also started learning make healthy baked goods. I want to share my recipes as I create them on this page as well as interesting foods as I discover them living abroad.

For beginners to Korean food, I suggest using these two sites. I personally love Aeri’s Kitchen. She’s adorable and so is her little son, but her food is amazing.
